The Anti-Monolith Stack reimagines the bookshelf as something dynamic, an ever-evolving system rather than a single, immovable object. Instead of one dominating unit, it offers a constellation of modular Type A and Type B teak boxes, each handcrafted and richly grained, designed to grow and adapt alongside the spaces they inhabit.

These modules resist prescription. They encourage composition. Stack them into a vertical sculpture of books and objects; extend them sideways to draw a grounding line across a wall; break them into clusters that drift through a room like punctuation. Each module begins with carefully prepared wood blocks, their grains interlocked for strength and visual interest. Rounded corners on the blocks, assembled with the timber’s grain intentionally oriented in opposing directions, a subtle design choice that adds visual rhythm and reinforces the structure. T-lap joints allow the pieces of each block to lock together with stability.
